Siheung is a city of urban and agriculture where history, tradition and state-of-the-art industry are in harmony. Our city has the history and tradition of branching out 6 districts of Seoul and 6 cities of Gyeonggi Province. Furthermore, 75% of the entire city area is assigned as Green Belt thus it is a city with abundant natural environments and greens where various lives are living, reservoirs, Gyeonggi Province’s only Naeman mud flats, old salt field, SihwaNational Industrial Complex which is the largest in Metropolitan area with 2,700 acres space.

The city has potential for development and growth. We have abundant land for development such as old salt fields, land digging sites, Gunja Landfill, Neunggok Janghyeong Mokgam Region, GB preferential release region, non-developed housing sites, and it is a dynamic young city with 3rd lowest average age in the country. The Mayor and one thousand public servants are endlessly trying to develop Siheung as a nucleus city in the era of West Coast Yellow Sea and striving our best to faithfully perform our duties and roles. These efforts will blossom in the interest and participation by citizens and those who visit our city.
